PV System
The links below show several ways to look at the energy produced by a 2.42 kW (dc) rooftop solar photovoltaic system. The system started operation on February 15, 2008. The charts are rendered using Mike Bostock's d3.
- Calendar — Daily calendar view. The energy produced each day is quantized into a diverging color scale, and the values then visualized as colored cells, one per day. The color scale ranges from dark blue (lowest energy) to dark red (highest energy). The best day is June 11, 2014, and the worst day is December 11, 2014.
- Month — Monthly bar chart. Each year has its own color.
The PV system is monitored by pvwatch. A custom script running on a Raspberry Pi Model B downloads the daily data log and uploads the energy production to the cloud.
